Hot rolled stainless steel surface has scaling, imperfect edges with distortions. Hot rolled stainless steel is less time-consuming and cheaper than cold-rolled stainless steel. Cold rolled stainless steel is stronger and harder than hot rolled stainless steel.
Why is cold rolled steel more expensive?
Price: Because of its advantages over hot rolled steel, cold rolled steel is more expensive. Also, because cold rolled steel is tougher to manipulate, it's takes more time and can cost more to take it through similar processes.
