The term "carbon steels" refers to steels that have a high percentage of carbon as the alloying element; they also contain small amounts of nickel, aluminum, chromium, copper, and molybdenum. These carbon steels have excellent projection, butt, spot and fusion, and brazeability. Additional information about AISI 1008 carbon steel can be found in the datasheet that follows.
